Doovle @ MIPTV
Doovle was selected by a panel of BBC judges as a finalist in the 2006 Content 360 digital pitching competition, part of MIPTV 2006.
In the "Longtail Content" category, the BBC was looking for innovative ways of navigating its archive of media assets including audio, video, text and pictures - particularly concepts that help build reach to "longtail" content. This is content that is rarely used but that has high value when delivered to the right users at the right time.

Doovle & The BBC Archive
The BBC owns a vast archive of legacy video content. The primary benefit of the Doovle application is to enable users to find scenes they remember, probably vaguely, from films and programmes and to watch those scenes again over broadband.
As a means to navigate an archive of digital video assets, Doovle is an ideal and very entertaining solution.
Doovle was unveiled publicly for the first time at MIPTV in Cannes on April 6th.
For the purpose of the competition entry, a small archive of well known BBC programme material was created and made searchable. The programmes chosen were Fawlty Towers, Blackadder and the 1966 World Cup Final.
Now, for the first time, you can try running a Doovle search of these programmes yourself. Just click one of the title images and start searching...
