About Doovle

Company History

Doovle was founded in 2005 within the privately held Cambridge technology incubator, Green Cathedral plc. In 2009 Doovle was spun out from Green Cathedral and acquired outright in 2010 by its management team.
 
Solution Delivery Culture
One of the larger businesses owned by Green Cathedral was GCDM, its web solutions and digital agency division with roots going back 14 years to the beginning of the web. We at Doovle still have that solution delivery culture in our blood and we take enormous pride in both our heritage and our present day bespoke solution work.
 

Doovle Video Search Technology
The Doovle video search technology was first shown to the public at MIPTV in Cannes in 2006. It was a finalists in a BBC "Content 360" innovation competition entitled "Navigating Longtail Content". The first content collections we demonstrated were the BBC's Blackadder, Fawlty Towers and BBC Life (Attenborough) collections.
