Project Brief To build a new online video platform product to enable secure and confidential screening of pre-edit, pre-release and post-production video for the TV, music, film and advertising industries. Secure online video screening without the need for FTP servers or couriers. Execution As with FamilyCam.com, we built ScreeningVault.com based on a customised version of our online video platform. With ScreeningVault.com, there was an equally strong emphasis on the need for strict confidentiality and security, with the final web site being served entirely through 128-bit SSL encryption.
Background The ScreeningVault.com mission was two-fold. The first was to provide a secure and confidential environment for video and film producers and editors to store and watch pre-release video [during the editing phase], and the second was to provide the tools needed to reduce the time spent editing and uploading video. Features & Technical ScreeningVault provides powerful tools to enable its customers to grant (and withdraw) access to some or all of the videos you store in their account. Customers can grant different groups of guests access to different sets of videos and can manage and change which videos are accessible to which groups and which guests at any time. ScreeningVault customers can tag individual scenes (timecodes) in all their movies so that those scenes can later be found easily and watched instantly. A ScreeningVault scene tag is a text description of a scene in a movie coupled with a time point (at what time in the movie the scene occurs). There is no limit to how many scene tags can be saves and no restriction on how cusomers use the timecode tagging feature. They can use it for marking suggested edits of in-production work, for annotating scenes of interest or just to mark the scenes of a feature film in which different people played a part. ScreeningVault customers and their invited guests can find any tagged scene in any of their videos using our unique video timecode tag search engine. The search results show a list of al the scenes with tag words that match the search terms along with thumbnail stills of the matched scenes. Once some timecode tags have been created, when customers and their guests next play a video, their tags will be displayed just like subtitles or closed captions directly in the video itself. Invited guests can find any tagged scene in any account holder's videos using our unique video timecode tag search engine. The search results show a list of all the scenes with tag words that match the search terms along with thumbnail stills of the matched scenes.
